THREE Dutch Artists
JELISA
Amsterdam-based artist brings a unique take on indie soul, creating a fusion with jazz, funk, soul, indie and alternative R&B. Her warm, authentic voice and bold, imaginative production draw listeners into a world where vulnerability and strength coexist.
After introducing herself with Season of Vulnerability (2022), JELISA released her new EP Melancholia in 2025, a project largely created in Japan at Freedom Studio Tokyo and featuring collaborations with Japanese artists. Conceived during her time in Tokyo, whereshe also performed at the renowned Baroom and filmed a documentary about her journey.
The record reflects her widening international perspective and marks a new chapter in her artistic development.
Her music has received international recognition, including airplay on BBC Radio, alongside strong support from NPO Soul & Jazz and Sublime, as well as an in-depth interview with Paradiso.
On stage, JELISA has headlined her own show at Paradiso and performed as a support act at Melkweg, TivoliVredenburg and Le Maroquinerie (Paris). She has also appeared at ESNS, Supersonic Jazz Festival and other notable events, steadily building her reputation as one of the most exciting new voices in modern soul.
Known for her authenticity, relentless and boundary-pushing creativity, JELISA continues to evolve while laying the foundations for her highly anticipated debut album. Above all, she remains pure and honest in her songwriting, telling personal stories that move and connect with people.
GINGE
There is a wave of freshness and excitement vibrating throughout the latest output of UK-infused tunes released by groundbreaking singer-songwriter GINGE from Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
She boldly expands on her R&B and neo-soul influences with a thrilling range of more beat-oriented songs, freely merging her powerful songwriting, soulful voice and harmonies with fresh and progressive electronic sounds.
GINGE masterfully captures the deep connection and sensuality, freedom and fun found ingoing out in a unique and refreshing sound. After the pandemic GINGE was reminded of the importance of being able to go out and have fun collectively. And of how there are strong mental benefits and great creative power in deliberately choosing to stay joyful and playful, confident and connected, in a world filled with distractions, expectations and turmoil.
With this exciting sound GINGE has also defined how to artistically articulate and take fullownership and pride of her sensuous side. GINGE reflects on her coming of age, as a woman and as an artist, and the crucial themes and issues that keep on recurring in her songs throughout the years. Including longing for human connection, the pressures of dealing with the outside gaze - and the deep sense of freedom found in truly surrendering to that longing for joy within yourself.
Swan
Singer and songwriter/producer she sets herself apart within the Alternative R&B genre with a blunt yet poetic songwriting style and refined harmonies supported by groovy productions. In the writing process, the storyline and visuals are deeply intertwined; creating a world that goes way beyond just the musical experience. In her songs she encourages her listeners to see their vulnerability as strength.
After fully focusing on her musical skills for the last few years, Swan is now ready to step forward. She already opened for Jeangu Macrooy and Pete Philly & Perquisite on their European Tour and did the support for legendary soul singer Gladys Knight in Royal Theatre Carré Amsterdam. Last summer she played at the renowned North Sea Jazz festival with her band. Swan’s debut album Underneath My Façade, which she produced together with Perquisite, was released on January 10 2025 on Unexpected Records. On the album she fearlessly explores the concealed emotions we usually keep hidden beneath the surface; not afraid to delve into uncomfortable or highly personal subjects. Underneath My Façade will be presented on March 8 with a special live show in De Melkweg in Amsterdam.
SHALINI RANI
MODEST QUEEN RAW SOUL POP ARTIST USING VULNERABLE STORYTELLING ROOTED IN RADICAL SELF ACCEPTANCE
London-based soul-pop artist whose music lives at the intersection of vulnerability and bold self-expression. Blending soulful textures with hip-hop influence and emotionally rich storytelling, she creates soundscapes that feel both intimate and defiant.
Rooted in radical self-acceptance, her artistry explores duality — weaving together fashion, spirituality, mental health, and empowerment into a voice that is unapologetically multifaceted. Entirely self-taught, Shalini’s journey into music is driven by resilience, intuition, and a deep commitment to honouring her inner child against the odds.
Nic Christiana
A London-based singer/songwriter originally from Birmingham. Nic began her career freestyling at a cypher, which led to her early recognition in the scene. After several years developing, her sound now sits between Trapsoul and explorative RnB. However, she still very much carries her innate ability to blend genres.
