About this Event
Join us at Lore for the first edition of Lit & Lyric, a monthly pop-up literary salon exploring the relationship between books and music, hosted by author Carmen Evelyn G Nuyda.
Each month, we’ll pair a book with a song, creating an intimate evening where literature and music speak to one another through reading, listening, guided reflection, and thoughtful conversation.
Our first pairing features Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston alongside Bob Marley’s “Turn Your Lights Down Low” — two works connected through themes of love, longing, self-discovery, tenderness, and emotional freedom.
The evening will include:
- A guided discussion of the book
- Intentional listening and reflection
- A guided meditation
- A small take-home gift
Tickets include participation in the salon experience and all evening programming.
Books are available through Lore but must be ordered in advance. To reserve a copy ahead of the gathering, please email us: [email protected]
Guests who purchase the book through Lore will also receive a complimentary zine.
Space is limited to preserve the intimate nature of the gathering.
