BLACK BAG JOB opens June 11 at Hollywood Fringe.This is Sequence 4 in The Black Bag Sexology — six plays about surveillance, secrecy, and the machinery of American power. Each sequence is standalone. You don't need to have seen the others. But if you have, you'll feel it.
Black Bag Job is set in Memphis. April 3, 1968. One night before the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. Four FBI operatives. A motel room. A reel-to-reel.
I wrote this play because I wanted to sit inside the mechanism — not watch it from a distance. What does it feel like to be the instrument? To follow orders you understand perfectly?
