Listening to Trees: A "Spinning Time into Form" Walk

Join visual artist Rainey Straus and nature sound recordist Mark Lipman for an experiential walk along the Earthquake Trail at Point Reyes National Seashore. Participants will listen to the trees with their own ears and through specialized microphones, share tree stories, and attune to the forest’s rhythms. After the walk, we'll gather at Gallery Route One, where Straus’s installation, Spinning Time into Form, inspired by Coast Live Oaks and Bay Laurel along the trail and accompanied by Lipman’s dawn chorus recording, invites viewers into the living entanglements between the human and more-than-human worlds.

Participants are welcome to arrive early and bring lunch to enjoy at the picnic area near the trailhead. Drive time between the park and the gallery is approximately 10 minutes.
