Fabian Thomas
Born in England of Jamaican parents, Fabian Thomas has taken on many roles over the years and feels that each one is as important as the next in defining who he is and his life’s work. He is currently an Adjunct Lecturer in the School of Continuing Studies at the Mico University. He is also a trainer/facilitator, communications consultant, performing arts specialist and life, corporate and creative coach.
In the theatre he plays roles both on and off stage, as a writer, director, actor, singer, choreographer, spoken word poet and performer. His work in the performing and literary arts has garnered him numerous awards and warm accolades. He earned a B.A. in Mass Communication and Literature and an M.A. in Public Communications and his training at University of the West Indies as well as Fordham University in the USA, fed his wide range of interests and helped train him for the many duties he would take on over the years in varying capacities.
Fabian is the founder and Artistic Director of the performing arts collective Tribe Sankofa and is dedicated to the Arts as a tool for transformation and is the founder/sole trader of his own company called Sankofa Arts & Facilitation. In 2018, he self-published his collection of gratitude verses, affirmations and spoken word entitled New Thought, New Words and co-authored Tribal Elements: A Tribe Ting, Volume 1 and wrote his first children’s book Djembe in 2022. His first collection of spoken word and poetry, the solace of sound, was published in March 2025.
