About this Event
This November 18th is LGBTQIA+ STEMM Day 2024. QueersInScience, Proud Science Alliance APAC, AstraZeneca & Bio21 partner to bring you what is set to be an amazing LGBTQIA+ STEMM Day seminar and networking event.
Participating in the event is made easy with options to join us in person at Bio21 (Parkville, Melbourne) or AstraZeneca (Macquarie Park, Sydney) or alternatively online! As we come together for science, stories and discussions, where we hope to build up our community of LGBTQIA+ folk and empowered allies. The event will connect queer researchers and students, professionals, advocates, allies and representatives from QueersInScience and Proud Science Alliance APAC to truly celebrate queer contributions to STEMM in Australia.
Featuring a keynote address from Kim Kwan, Project Manager, Gender equity, diversity and inclusion at Association of Australian Medical Research Institutes (AAMRI), followed by a panel of diverse speakers on the topic of Queering the Sector: improving LGBTQIA+ inclusion and access in STEMM. The event will conclude with a social afternoon tea and open invite networking drinks nearby.
Hear from a range of LGBTQIA+ people in STEMM about what a day in their life is like, and the role models that have inspired them.
