About this Event
Join the School of Geography, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences for the first annual SGEAS End of Year Public Colloquium.
The inaugural SGEAS End of Year Public Colloquium will be delivered by Jas Chambers. Jas works at the intersection of nature (with a focus on ocean) science, business and government. She brings together people from across sectors to have good conversations and bring positive change.
In her address, Jas will draw on her career and heritage to argue for why research and conversations are crucial, now more than ever, for all decision makers. Academic research explores the solutions to many of the world’s problems, but there is still a disconnect between those who find the answers, and those who turn those findings into reality. How can we break down these barriers? What is the role of individual researchers, organisations, and governing bodies? And how can we work together to address the many wicked problems that lie ahead?
