There are 3 phases of this Multiball Madness event.
Phase 1 - Timed Group Matchplay to determine seeding
Phase 2 - Fill out your bracket predictions for a chance to win our side pot
Phase 3 - Big Bracket tournament to determine Multiball Madness Champion
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Saturday Mar 14th 10am: Seeding Tournament
The seeding tournament will be 6 hours of Group Match Play.
The results of this tournament will determine seeding for the main bracket style tournament on Sunday. Top 32 make A Division Bracket (left side), bottom 32 make B Division Bracket (right side). Significant tie breakers (cutline between A and B) will be played as necessary following the 6 hour group matchplay.
Saturday Mar 14th 5ish: Bracket Reveal
Immediately following the seeding tournament we will tabulate and announce the official Multiball Madness bracket seeding. Players (and others) may then submit their own Bracket Prediction for a chance at the side pot.
ALL BRACKETS MUST BE TURNED IN BY MIDNIGHT. Bracket Predictions turned in after midnight will not be accepted.
Sunday Mar 15th 10am: Multiball Madness Big Bracket Tournament
We will take our group of 64 players and begin cutting the field in half every round. Players will play Head to Head slaughter format. Division A will be on the left side of the bracket (1-32) and Division B will be on the right side (33-64). Each head to head round will be a best of 3 (old/mid/new). Whichever player wins 2 of the 3 games moves on, the losing player is eliminated.
High seed has first choice of game or position for the first game. The loser of that game gets to select either game or position. If a game 3 is needed, the loser of game 2 will have first choice of game or position. You may only play one new, mid, or old game per round. So if the high seed selects say a new game for game 1, the loser of that game will have choice of a mid or old game. Players can not pick the same game in back to back rounds
The initial round will be separated by divisions in the interest of space and available machines.
Approximate Round Schedule (subject to adjustments):
10am - Round 1 Division B (Seeds 33-64)
11am - Round 1 Division A (Seeds 1-32)
12:30pm - Round 2 (32 players remain)
2:00pm - Round 3 (16 players remain)
3:30pm - Quarterfinals (8 players remain)
5:00 - dinner break
6:00pm - Semifinals (4 players remain)
7:30pm - A vs B Finals (2 players remain)
Registration will begin at 1pm on February 15th via Eventbrite. We will take the first 64 players and then open up a waitlist. Anyone that gets a spot and later is unable to come is encouraged to notify either John Reemtsen or Steph Zona ASAP so we can get that spot filled by someone on the waitlist.

BRACKET PREDICTION SIDE POT:
Winner takes all. Winner will be whoever’s bracket closest resembles the actual outcome wins the pot. In the event that there are multiple people that have the same winning predictions, they will split the pot equally.
WPPRS:
While it does create a couple issues, the decision to have the bracket separated into an A division finals and a B division finals is for the purposes of maximizing WPPRS. Yes, that does mean that the #1 seed and the #2 seed cannot meet in the championship match (theoretically they would have to duke it out in the semi-finals). As far as WPPRs are concerned, no one in B division can finish higher than 33rd (the championship game between A and B will not factor into WPPRS). However, the winner of B Division does have a chance to beat the winner in A Division for the top cash prize and title of Multiball Madness Champion. Ideally we would have everyone in one division but doing so would make the WPPRS worth less than half vs doing it with an A and B division.
