About this Event

Qualification structure

You will complete 6 units: An introduction to the Youth Work Sector; Communication and Group Work Skills; Delivering a Youth Work Programme; Safe Practice within a Youth Work Setting; Self- Assessment for Youth Work Practice; Working with Young People in the Local Community.

This qualification is suitable for individuals who:

  • Are 14+;
  • Aspire to working in a youth work environment. (P/t or F/t, paid or voluntary) ;
  • Are looking for an access route to a qualification and the potential to move onto a higher level.


What’s involved ?

The sessions will be held on 26th, 27th and 29th May 10am - 5pm (1 hour lunch break at 1pm). 28th May will be a study/ support day, hence the total commitment is four days.

Lunch is NOT PROVIDED, so please bring your own lunch (we have microwave that you are welcome to use; there's plenty of shops and cafes in the area).

Assessment:

There is no formal examination. You will collate a portfolio of evidence comprising of oral & written questions, assignments, professional discussions.

Progression:

Learners who successfully complete this Level 1 qualification could progress to a Level 2 qualification in Youth Work. They could also progress onto appropriate specialised diplomas at Level 2, or onto related Apprenticeships.

Before the training, you will need to fill out the Training Form, which will be sent to the email address provided. It will be sent during the week of 27th April, so please keep an eye on your inbox.



IMPORTANT TICKET INFORMATION

Training is FREE for the Young Ealing Foundation members, £50 deposit will be refunded on successful completion of the course.

Price for non-members £50.

Please be informed that YEF members will be prioritised if the training is fully booked.
