About this Event

Unlock the full potential of your Leica camera with a hands-on session led by Philip Cuenco, Leica’s Manager of Training & Development.

This “Lite” version of the Leica Akademie program, “In-The-Zone,” is designed to help you master zone focusing techniques with Leica's legendary rangefinders. Leica SL body owners will also find this workshop highly relevant.

Guided by insights from his mentor Ebi Khuene and a discussion with the renowned Constantine Manos, Phil has crafted a unique exercise-based experience that has previously inspired participants to confidently photograph using zone focusing with wide-open apertures.

Owning a Leica is not required to join this program. A limited selection of Leica cameras and lenses will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for your use. You’ll have the opportunity to capture images with that distinctive "Leica Look" whether you use Summicron, Summilux, or Noctilux lenses.

Reserve your spot today and refine your zone focusing techniques with one of Leica’s leading experts!

Philip Cuenco

While he is currently Leica's Manager of Training, Development & Visual Merchandising in photography circles, he has been recognized as "one of the fastest" practitioners of zone focusing in the industry.

Originally trained as a 3D Animation & Special Effects artist, Phil worked on post-production for movie trailers and as a Director of Photography, before transitioning to the world of fashion and celebrity photography in 2005. For more than a decade, he led and produced some of the Leica Akademie's most popular workshops and was the go-to instructor of high-profile clients.

Philip can still be seen occasionally on the red carpet, he prefers leading educational experiences whether it is our youth programs or lectures at photography festivals. When he isn’t photographing, he loves keeping busy playing his harp, guitar, barebow archery, cycling, and tending to his bonsai plants.
