About this Event
In town for ALA Annual? Working in libraries in the Chicago area?
Join comrades for a casual meet and greet before the conference kicks off!
We'll share snacks and stories and plans for a "left track" through the weekend's events. Hear updates from local struggles including the contract fight at Skokie Public Library, the campaign to flip a hostile board at the Niles-Maine District Library, and the organizing drive at the University of Chicago Lab School.
***We ask that guests are masked during the discussion portion of the event in our main event space. We will provide refreshments and drinks for the mingling portion and folks can spread out. Weather permitting we will also have outside space for folks to gather and hang out.***
Speakers:
- Angela Bailey, Skokie Public Library
- Elizabeth Seeskin, Niles Coalition
- Sandy Bernard, University of Chicago Lab Schools
- Jarrett Dapier, author and librarian
