📚 Lecture: "Broken Systems, Unbreakable Women: Resist, Revolt, Reform"

🎤 Speaker: Prof. Gina Antoniello

Join us for an insightful evening with Professor Gina Antoniello as she traces the remarkable legacy of women athletes who have bravely confronted inequity and demanded change within the world of sports. From Wilma Rudolph’s courageous call for desegregation in her 1960 hometown celebration to the socially conscious activism of today’s WNBA players, this lecture will illuminate how athlete activism reflects broader struggles for equality and justice.

Professor Antoniello will spotlight pivotal moments of resistance, highlighting the U.S. women's national soccer team's fight for equal pay and the WNBA’s mobilization for electoral change. These “unbreakable women” have not only challenged systemic barriers but also reshaped the culture, governance, and moral expectations of both sports and society.

As an expert in sport culture and social justice, Gina Antoniello serves as Academic Director and Clinical Assistant Professor at the Tisch Institute for Global Sport. With over a decade of experience in professional sports and numerous accolades for her educational leadership, she is committed to fostering equity and opportunity both on and off the field.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how women athletes are driving change with Professor Gina Antoniello!
