About this Event
Working in a service-based industry is difficult when clients come in dysregulated; it's even more difficult when world events make it hard for you to be regulated, too. Having a better understanding of the autonomic nervous system and how your own unique nervous system responds to the world around it can make it easier to cope before, during, and after work. With this polyvagal theory workshop, you will learn strategies to better understand and support yourself and your clients during difficult times. Objectives:
- Learn about the autonomic nervous system
- Get to know your own nervous system
- Identify regulating resources in your work and personal lives
- Adapt regulation techniques for working with clients
Kate Shelton, LMHC is a licensed therapist in Washington State with specialization in polyvagal theory and neurodiversity-affirming care.
