Join us at Loughborough Farm to learn how to grow oyster mushrooms on straw bales in your community garden! This hands-on event will teach you all you need to know about growing these delicious fungi right in your own backyard. Besides fun facts about the fascinating world of mushrooms, you'll have hands-on fun by creating a straw bale for mushrooms and even make your own grow bag, which you can take home to enjoy! All materials, including a handout will be provided, you do not need any prior knowledge or experience.
It will take place at Loughborough Farm and is open to adults and children from age 11 (accompanied by an adult).
This workshop is part of a series of workshops delivered by Adi's Urban Mushrooms and Loughborough Farm. You can also learn how to cultivate oyster mushrooms in an outdoor fruiting house, grow mushrooms in a garden bed and, cultivate oyster mushrooms on straw bales.
