🦋✨ DISCOVER THE HIDDEN WORLD OF BUTTERFLIES & MOTHS! ✨🦋Tuesday 10th March – 7:30pm • Snape Institute
Hosted by Snape Bird Watching Group
Whether you’re a wildlife enthusiast, a beginner naturalist, or simply curious about the colourful little neighbours in your garden, this is the perfect evening for you!
Join Roger Foreman of The GladeTrust, a conservationist known for his hands‑on work with wildlife monitoring, moth trapping, and biodiversity protection at the Glade Trust Nature Reserve near Kirkby Fleetham. Roger regularly leads walks and demonstrations on bird ringing and moth identification, helping visitors explore the rich variety of species found across the reserve.
🌿 A friendly, illustrated talk covering:
• How butterflies and moths grow, survive and thrive
• Simple tips to identify common species you can spot locally
• Fascinating insight into conservation work you can support right here in North Yorkshire
• A close‑up look at real moth traps and how they reveal hidden nocturnal wildlife—just like the ones used at the GladeTrust, where diverse and spectacular species such as Poplar Hawk-moths and November Moths are regularly recorded.
This is a relaxed, welcoming session—no prior knowledge needed, just curiosity and a love of the natural world!
