Leading and Working from Home: Engaging remote and hybrid teams (3 CEs)

As organizations adapt to the realities of remote and hybrid work models, fostering employee engagement and well-being is essential for success. This course is designed for licensed mental health professionals and organizational leaders committed to creating a supportive work environment prioritizing employee mental health and connection.

Participants will explore effective strategies to enhance engagement and motivation among remote and hybrid teams, ensuring team members feel valued, connected, and aligned with organizational goals. Key topics include understanding intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, implementing recognition and feedback mechanisms, and establishing clear objectives that promote team cohesion and purpose. The course will also address practical approaches to maintaining engagement and well-being in remote settings, equipping participants with the tools to cultivate a thriving workplace culture.

Learning Objectives:

After this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the factors driving employee engagement and well-being in remote work environments, differentiating between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation.
  • Discuss the value of building regular feedback and recognition systems that foster a sense of value and appreciation among team members.
  • Develop strategies for setting measurable, meaningful goals that align with employee engagement and organizational purpose.
  • Apply communication techniques and team-building strategies that enhance connection and commitment among remote teams.
  • Master the art of providing feedback that motivates and supports employee engagement in virtual settings.
  • Apply practical tools and strategies to optimize employee engagement in hybrid and remote environments.

CE Course Instructor: Jason Ingram, JD, MA, MSW is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and faculty member of the American College of Mental Health Education with a broad range of social work, HR, compliance, legal, and policy experience in various industries and sectors, including local, state, and federal government. This course is taught from personal, academic, and professional perspectives. A Teachers College Columbia University graduate with a Master of Arts degree in Sociology and Education with a concentration in Education Policy. He also received his Juris Doctor degree from The Catholic University of America and his Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

Target Audience and Course Delivery: This includes, but is not limited to, Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselors, and other mental health professionals. The instructional level of the activity is advanced.

Course Interactivity: All live, interactive webinars involve discussion and chat messaging with the webinar's presenter, as well as questions and answers from and to attendees.

Access to Training: Upon registering for the course, attendees will receive an email that details how to access the CE course. The email will include the unique URL, so attendees do not have to install software on their computers.

System Requirements: We highly recommend using the latest version of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera, or Edge browser. Attendees may perform a system configuration test before entering the event room. See the registration confirmation email. This lets attendees check their conference server connection, operating system, browser capability, and audio and video output.

Course Delivery and Number of CE Credits: This is a live, in-person CE event. Attendees will receive 3 - 6 CEs, depending on registration. One CE contact hour is equal to 60 minutes of a learning activity. Attendees must participate in all sessions for which they registered and complete a course evaluation. CE certificates will be issued on the same day and at the end of the class, pending the electronic receipt of the course evaluation.

Course Evaluations: Our designated online survey tool completes course evaluations.

CE Approval Information: ​* Psychologists: The American College of Mental Health College is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The American College of Mental Health College maintains responsibility for this program and its content. * Social Workers: The American College of Mental Health College, Provider #1709, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. The American College of Mental Health College maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 05/03/2023-05/03/2026. Social workers completing this course receive 3 Ethics continuing education credits. * Licensed Professionals Counselors: The American College of Mental Health College has been approved by National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP Provider No. 6909, Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. The American College of Mental Health College is solely responsible for all aspects of its programs. * Other Professions: These educational offerings qualify for 6 continuing education hours as required by many national, state and local licensing boards and professional organizations. Please save your course outline and certificate of completion, and contact your board for specific filing requirements.

Refund/Cancellation Policy: Refunds are not available. If you need to cancel and want to receive transfer credit for a future workshop of equal or lesser value, you must cancel more than 72 hours before the start date of the workshop. If you cancel less than 72 hours before the workshop, you will only be eligible for a transfer, but you will also be subject to a $75 transfer fee. In a public health emergency (e.g., COVID, RSV, natural disaster, etc.), we will either reschedule the event or offer credit for a future event of the same value.
