Latihan: A Blindfolded Moving Meditation

Latihan is a blindfolded moving meditation to release what’s held in the mind, return to the wisdom of the body, and trust the mystery.
About this Event

Latihan is a beautiful practice of releasing control, opening to the life force within, and allowing yourself to be guided into the mystery of the unknown.
In a world that prioritizes control and logic, this is an invitation to step out of the mind and into the body—to listen, trust, and be guided from within.

What are the origins of Latihan?

Rooted in the Subud tradition of Indonesia, Latihan is a spiritual practice of surrender -originally received and shared by Bapak Muhammad Subuh.

Over time, elements of this practice have been adapted and explored within various modern spiritual and somatic communities, including Osho’s work and contemporary mystery schools, where movement, energy, and surrender are used as pathways into deeper awareness.

In this modern, inclusive approach, we move beyond roles, identity, and performance, meeting simply as humans. Through spontaneous movement, you reconnect with the natural intelligence of your body and the energy that moves through you.

There are no steps to follow and nothing to get right. This is a practice of letting go of control, expectation, and self-consciousness, and allowing something deeper to lead.

Why practice Latihan?
  • reconnect with your body and its natural impulses
  • release control and move from intuition
  • build trust in yourself and the unknown
  • soften emotional holding and allow authentic expression
  • experience presence, aliveness, and connection
  • expand your capacity for surrender

Who is this for?

This is for those who feel called to explore trust, surrender, and embodied movement in a safe and supportive space.

You may resonate if you want to:

  • get out of your head and into your body
  • deepen your connection to intuition and inner guidance
  • explore spontaneous, authentic movement
  • open to more presence, connection, and aliveness

What to expect

Opening Circle
We set agreements, introduce the theme we’ll be working with, and ground into a brave, supportive container.

Somatic Warm-Up
Group, solo, and partner-based practices to help you land in your body. Through guided somatic inquiry, you’ll begin to notice patterns, sensations, and responses that shape how you relate to yourself and others. You’ll be supported in introspection, as well as in partner and group experiences where you are witnessed and invited to explore how these patterns show up in your life and relationships.

Latihan Practice
A blindfolded moving meditation where you release control and allow your body to move freely, guided from within.

Integration & Rest
Time to pause, settle, and allow your body, mind, and nervous system to absorb the experience.

Closing Circle
Optional reflection and sharing to support integration and deepen your personal insights.
