About this Event
Digg & Co. Studio focuses on landscape restorations and ecological design where the rebirth and unfettered abundance of natural systems is a core principle. Toby Diggens has specialist expertise in landscape scale restoration techniques and holistic management principles. A recent thesis title Second Nature designed a spatial rationalisation for landscape, where the designer or ecologist can rapidly understand the scale they are working within to deliver the largest ecological gains.
This event will firstly focus on their recent work on Dartmoor. Digg and Co. have developed a landscape vision and management strategy for one of the landscape recovery projects on Dartmoor, addressing environmental sustainability and community needs in the face of climate change and altering use models and public sentiment.
· The vision combines literature review, climate modelling, and stakeholder input.
· It reflects three landscape forms: valleys and foothills, enclosed uplands, and high moor.
· The vision aims to ensure Dartmoor remains special for future generations and to become as ecologically rich as possible.
Secondly, he will also introduce the BNG & rewilding project at Wendling Beck in Norfolk. As part of the continuing series on BNG and visits, The Landscape Institute London Branch will be arranging a tour led by Toby of this project in April 2026.
