A coletânea, organizada por Sueli Lopes e prefaciada por Sarah Cruz Ferraz, trata-se de uma obra literária e traz 32 coautoras brasileiras, residentes no Brasil e no Reino Unido. Por meio de crônicas, poesias, ensaios ou artigos, prestam homenagem às grandes escritoras que desbravaram o mundo da escrita, que por séculos foi exclusividade dos homens.

A obra, escrita por mulheres e sobre mulheres, reflete a capacidade criativa e empreendedora da comunidade de mulheres brasileiras que vivem no exterior. Nos capítulos do livro, as coautoras promovem reflexões sobre as obras e a vida de escritoras e intelectuais do Brasil e do mundo. Tão importante quanto as autoras e as obras, é a variedade de culturas e percepções de mundo que se manifestam na coletânea.

Este livro não é apenas a celebração de conquistas passadas, é também um chamado à ação. Mesmo honrando o legado daquelas que vieram antes de nós, não podemos nos esquecer as lutas por igualdade de gênero no mundo literário e em outros setores da sociedade continuam. Escritoras seguem enfrentando barreiras no mundo literário, que vão desde dificuldades no mercado editorial, a desigualdades sistêmicas que perpassam a sociedade como um todo.

LAUNCH OF THE ANTHOLOGY THE POWER OF THE WOMEN VOICE ON LITERATURE

The anthology, which was edited by Sueli Lopes and prefaced by Sarah Cruz Ferraz, is a literary work and features 32 Brazilian women co-authors, living in Brazil and the UK; who, through chronicles, poetry, essays or articles, pay tribute to the great writers who have broken the new ground in the world of writing, which used to be exclusively for men

The book, written by women and about women, reflects the creative and entrepreneurial capacity of the community of Brazilian women living abroad. In the book's chapters, the co-authors promote reflections on the works and lives of women writers and intellectuals from Brazil and around the world. Just as important as the authors and their works is the variety of cultures and world perceptions that are expressed in the collection.

This book is not only a celebration of past`s conquests, it is also a call to action. Even that we celebrate the legacy of those who came before us, we must not forget that the struggle for gender equality in the literary world and other sectors of society continues. Women writers continue to face barriers in the literary world, ranging from difficulties in the publishing market to systemic inequalities that permeate society as a whole.
