Free Educational Community Turtle Tour 2025 Walk & Talk exploring Lake Claremont, Claremont (Night walk edition) π’ππ’ After a hugely successful night Walk & Talk in 2024 where we observed 8 turtles across two locations along the walk and this year we're aiming to expose more secrets of our favourite wetland saviours and hopefully discover their annual breeding congregation! ππ’π’ππ¦π
We will be exploring waterβs edge while using a spotlight at prime turtle habitats and an area that holds potential for a nocturnal breeding congregation area! Along the way, we can expect to see how much life resides within the water including fish, crustaceans, invertebrates and most importantly see turtles feeding, mating or just doing turtley awesome turtle things. With the focus will be on the water, we will still have the chance to be distracted by the calls of the microbats or songs sung by the frogs, we might get to see a few owls cruising around the trees. π’π¦π¦ππ¦πΈ
We will be setting up a table with not only Ian's educational posters along with ones promoting 1 Million Turtles and TurtleSAT BUT resources from WWW for history of their local wetlands! We will also have a little table available for the kids and big kids (of course) to get hands on with some preserved specimens and some colouring in! π’ππ’
Make sure to bring all your questions or concerns, let's start a conversation about turtles while we watch some truly unique reptiles! Dress warm and be ready to have a friendly chat about our favourite wildlife!! ππ
Bring your camera, bring you best questions, bring the family and most importantly; let's bring fun! ππ’π
This year, for those who wish to make a gold coin donation that would be greatly appreciate but isn't expected as this tour is for fun and raising awareness about our favourite shell pups! π’ππ’
