About this Event

Create Your Own Kurinuki Matcha Set with Olu.T Designs at Bird & Blend Tea Co

Immerse yourself in the relaxing world of kurinuki pottery at Bird & Blend Tea Co., an award-winning independent tea company known for its creative loose-leaf blends, matcha, and cosy tea experiences. Together, we’ll create your own handcrafted matcha set: a matcha bowl and cup.

In this two-hour guided workshop, you’ll explore the fundamentals of handbuilding while learning decorative techniques inspired by kurinuki, the Japanese art of carving forms from solid clay. You’ll shape, carve, and glaze your own unique ceramic pieces, ready for kiln firing after the session.

Led by Tosin of Olu.T Designs, this calming and creative experience is designed for all abilities, with no prior pottery experience needed. You’ll work with high-quality clay, tools, and a curated selection of glazes while enjoying Bird & Blend’s teas and matcha throughout the evening.

Whether you’re looking to unwind, try something new, or connect with fellow creatives, this workshop offers the perfect slow-paced start to your weekend.

By the end of the session, you’ll have:

• Your own handmade matcha bowl and cup, ready for firing

• New handbuilding and kurinuki pottery skills

• A complimentary Bird & Blend goody bag to take home

Your finished pieces will be ready to collect approximately 2–3 weeks after the workshop.
