TALENTBANQ Presents Kosta Burgess LIVE at the legendary Green Note, Camden Kosta Burgess plays his debut gig at the Green Note with a band of London’s finest musicians to celebrate the release of his new EP! Mark your diaries for a magical evening of acoustic folk-Americana storytelling through songs old and new.
Kosta Burgess is a singer-songwriter and guitarist hailing from Bristol, heavily inspired by the writing of Nick Drake, Neil Young and Adam Duritz, and the raspy vocal stylings of Stephen Stills. After finding a second home among the Camdenites of the grassroots label Spiritual Records, he quickly built up a reputation for his repertoire of emotive songs.
With growing momentum following the release of his debut single Louisiana in early 2025, Kosta was funded by the Arts Council to record a debut EP with Spiritual Records. Telling stories about complex characters – each an artist struggling to find their place in a faceless and unforgiving society – it’s a reflection on his experiences making music among brilliant people in London, and an ode to the richness of the scene.
The first two singles, New Dawn and Step Outside, were released in January and February of this year, and have brought with them glowing reviews, BBC radio play, and Kosta’s first band gigs, including headline slots at The Pheasantry and The Finsbury. Now, the band will take to the Green Note, armed with Bozard, Sam Crooks, and Jack Trouble. Make sure to be there for the record launch!
With support from Phil Maguire.
Phil Maguire is a folk and blues musician from South East London that has been touring their unique blend of contemporary and traditional folk music for over 10 years. A life of gigging on the road birthed a couple of singles that were followed by the EP ‘The Church Bell’ in early 2022. 2023 then saw the release of his debut album ‘Valley Of My Dreams’. A contemporary folk record steeped in the tradition. Over the past 10 years Phil has toured extensively across the UK including notable shows at Green Man & Glastonbury Festival.
In 2025 Phil supported The Wellermen at a sold out O2 Academy Islington show and maintained a busy gigging schedule. 2026 will see album no. 2, a folk/rock record, released into the world with a tour alongside it. Phil performs solo but more than often is seen on stage with his band as ‘Phil Maguire and the Balladeers’.
