About this Event
Most owners don’t have a numbers problem. They have a translation problem.
The reports come in. Your accountant says everything looks fine. And you still walk away unsure what the numbers are actually telling you about pricing, hiring, cash, or the next move you’re about to make.
That’s not your fault. Accounting was built to be accurate. It was not built to be useful.
This workshop is built for the second part.
For four hours on the morning of June 10, we’re going to sit down with a small group of Charlotte business owners and work through what your numbers should be doing for you — and how to get them to start.
Who this is built for
Charlotte business owners doing roughly $500K to $25M in revenue, plus the operations leaders and accounting managers who run the day-to-day with them.
If you’ve ever:
- Looked at a P&L and thought you should be getting more out of it
- Wondered if your gross margin is actually telling you the truth
- Approved a hire, a price change, or a big purchase without the numbers behind it
- Walked out of a tax conversation with more questions than answers
- Felt like the books are fine but not exactly useful
This is for you.
What you’ll walk away with
- A clearer read on your own income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow — and how the three actually talk to each other
- A working framework for turning the numbers in front of you into decisions you can defend
- A real working session on a real issue from your business, with input from the room
- Direct tax guidance from a CPA who works with companies your size
- A signed copy of How Much Does It Cost to Make a Donut? and breakfast is on us
Who’s leading the room
Cassmer Ward — Nexagy
Cass is a fractional CFO with more than 20 years across more than 30 businesses, and the author of How Much Does It Cost to Make a Donut? — a book about the financial questions every owner should be able to answer. He founded Nexagy in 2008 on one belief: your numbers should help you lead your business, not just survive a tax filing.
David Kostmayer — GBK Advisors
David is a CPA and partner at GBK Advisors, where he leads tax strategy for owner-operated businesses across the Carolinas. He’s known for clear, direct guidance that respects how owners actually think about their money
Why we run these
Most accounting firms hand you a report, close the engagement, and move on. You’re left to translate what just happened. We think that’s the wrong job description. The job is to help you do something with the numbers.
This morning is the live version of how we think about that work — what it looks like when an owner gets the right read on their business and starts making faster, more confident decisions because of it.
If the morning is the live version, Numbers to Knowledge is the monthly one
Numbers to Knowledge is Nexagy’s most accessible service — a recurring monthly engagement that takes your books and turns them into a clear read on the health of your business. Not a stack of reports. A real monthly conversation about what the numbers are telling you, what they’re not, and what to do about it.
Workshop attendees will get an in-person look at how it works, and a workshop-only onboarding offer good for 14 days after the event. No pitch deck. No hard close. Just an open door if the morning resonates.
