About this Event
Expressions of Self: Gender, Identity, and Embodiment
In this Knitted Knowledge session, we explore gender as something lived, felt, and expressed and not just defined. Through a knitted conversation and shared craft, we will reflect on how gender shapes our experiences, our relationships, and the ways we understand ourselves in the world.
This circle invites participants of all identities to consider how gender is embodied, narrated, and expressed across cultures and personal histories. We will hold space for questions, insights, and the many ways people make meaning of who they are.
Bring your knitting, yarn, needles, your curiosity, and your voice. Together, we will weave a conversation that honors complexity, celebrates expression, and deepens our understanding of the self.
Knitted Knowledge
Knitted Knowledge is a series of community discussion circles where yarn and ideas intertwine. Participants gather with knitting needles in hand to explore pressing academic and social themes (from decolonization to environmental justice) while creating fabric together. Each knit becomes a metaphor for collective reflection, each row a reminder of how knowledge is built in community. Whether you are a seasoned knitter or simply curious, this circle invites you to slow down, craft, and converse in a space where creativity and critical thought are woven together.
