Get ready to tackle writing about dating, intimacy and romance at Klub Write: Writing Intimacy in a welcoming FLINTA only spaceAbout this Event
Dating and intimacy are topics that fascinate us, but how can we incorporate them into our writing in a way that feels authentic, accessible, ethical— and hot?
Join award-winning writers Cat Hepburn (BBC, Edinburgh Fringe) and Demi Anter (Glastonbury, Poetry Ireland) for their returning creative writing workshop with a focus on all things sex, intimacy, and dating, at Berlin Well.
This event is for all writers, new and experienced, who are looking to spice up their writing, explore their own dating experiences on the page, and uncover how to convey intimacy, minus the cringe.
In this one-day workshop, we’ll analyze examples from a wide range of literature and use accessible writing exercises to uncover how to tackle these topics across genres.
Together, we’ll explore writing passionate encounters, desire, and everything in between in a fun and supportive environment.
In this five-hour workshop, expect topics such as:
- Writing about romance and intimacy with less cringe
- Conveying sensuality in poetry and nonfiction writing
- Structuring sex scenes in fictional work
- The challenges of writing about personal experiences
- Writing with all of the senses
Please note:
- If you wish you are welcome to bring an idea or a short first draft to workshop with the group (optional).
- Due to the nature of the content, the workshop is FLINTA only, 18+.
- Please note this is not an erotica writing workshop, though we will discuss explicit content.
- Snacks, teas, and coffees are included during the workshop. Alcoholic drinks and soft drinks will be available for purchase.
- The five-hour instruction will be punctuated with breaks. The workshop space is on the ground floor with no stairs.
