About this Event
The landscape of psychedelic therapy has undergone rapid transformation in recent years and Ketamine clinics have proliferated around the country.
Even therapists who do not plan to utilize psychedelics within their practice will be confronted with patients who have questions about these treatments. Psychoanalytic psychotherapists traditionally value the depth and enduring impact of ongoing treatment, whereas psychedelic therapies are often promoted for their potential to achieve rapid change. This talk explores how these substances might be used within a psychoanalytic framework in a long term treatment.
Join us on Thursday evening, April 23, for this presentation by AAPCSW Illinois' own Kevin Barrett. Kevin will address the group for 30-40 minutes, and we'll have plenty of time following for discussion.
Membership in the American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work (AAPCSW) is not required to attend.
