Kent Soul Club is in its 20th Year. Playing Original Vinyl Northern Soul, Rare Soul, Soul & Motown to 1000’s of people from all over the UK. Having gone through some very challenging times and circumstances, we have survived and endured and grown. 5 Custodians, 3 different venues, and of all things, the Covid pandemic.5 custodians have committed themselves to the running of the club since 2006, each bringing their own style, sound and commitment to keeping the dance floor full for all our members.
We have moved from the Fantastic Royal Function Rooms in Rochester, to the Beacon Court Gillingham returning to The Function Rooms that sadly closed in late 2021. Now in our new home, Strood & Frindsbury WMC in 2026, we are in our 20th Year.
To commemorate our 20th Anniversary year, we have decided to celebrate the past and the future of the Northern Soul Scene and Kent Soul Club.
At each of this years 5 events, a past custodian of Kent Soul Club and a young Northern Soul DJ will take to the decks. Plus, a few surprises throughout the year, it will be a very exciting time for Kent Soul Club.
Our DJ’s for 6th March will be;
Gary Dawkins. Gary has been a major part of Kent Soul Club since 2017, supporting Bunny after Paul Schembri moved on and the ‘go to’ man for stepping in at short notice, always willing to support and do his part. Gary plays an eclectic mix of sublime Modern Soul, 70’s Soul and Crossover gems, welcome again Gary.
Medway Valley Soul Club
Nat and McAuley from Medway Valley Soul Club are the young blood on the scene, spinning a mix of Classic Northern Soul and Modern soul. We warmly welcome these young guys to the Kent Soul Club stage as they are the future of the Northern Soul scene.
