About this Event

Dublin Songwriter and Skerries native Keith Burke has released four original albums. "The Dancer who Stole your Shoes" in 2004, "No One Wants to Move" in 2008, “These Boys” in 2016 and in 2025 he returned with “A day to celebrate”, his finest album yet.

“A day to celebrate” is an insightful collection of songs about the unconventional beauty of adult lives, and rich love stories found in the ordinary. Keith has done multiple artistic collaborations with acts like John Earle (Thin Lizzy, Ian Dury) and Liam O’Maonlaí (Hothouse Flowers), and played countless performances taking him to audiences from Pittsburgh to Beirut, Milan to Cairo. A regular on national radio, he often performs with his creative collective “The Little Black Book”. Back now focusing on his own writing, he has folded a lifetime of experience into “A Day To Celebrate” - a must listen for every fan of the Great Irish Songbook.

In Sept 2025, Keith performed at The Drogheda Songwriting Festival for the second year in a row where he also gave workshops on songwriting. In the past he played televised concerts in Italy, dates in the 2005 Guinness Cork Jazz festival and was the Hotpress "Pick of the fortnight". His music has been played on national Irish radio on RTE 1, Radio Na Gaeltachta and NewsTalk, as well as many regional radio stations. He was selected as the late Tony Fenton’s “daily download”. A song of his was used for the credits on a TV show on Setanta Sports. He’s played support to Irish bands Bagatelle and Aslan and in Bavaria, Germany, touring band “Mac C&C Celtic Four” regularly close their energetic live shows with Keith’s song “Love and Romans”.

Recent singles “I’ll begin this letter”, “Before you go” and “That’s where the bee’s loved to go” have been well received and played on national and regional radio stations in Ireland and the UK, with the latter featuring on Derek Mooney’s nature show “Mooney goes wild”
