Delayed tubes, endless rent hikes, and trying to find a seat in a coffee shop – life in London knows how to pile on the stress! Today - on Stress Awareness Day - we’re delighted to welcome Neil Shah, founder of The Stress Management Society, for a powerful and personal reflection on how stress — one of the most universal human experiences — can actually lead us back to ourselves, and to each other, helping us to live happier, healthier lives - something we believe strongly in, here at Sunday Assembly!Neil will invite us to consider how stress can be a signal for what truly matters, how challenges make us human and how communities like Sunday Assembly can be a lifeline in uncertain times.
Having also founded International Wellbeing Insights, Neil has supported individuals and organisations for over two decades in creating environments where mental health and human connection are truly valued. His work is grounded in lived experience, compassion, and a deep belief in the power of community to heal.
We will also be piloting the return of Sunday Assembly Choir, which returns in the form of a "one-day" choir rather than weekly rehearsals. Not only is singing a brilliant way to reduce stress, it also builds community, confidence and new skills! We look forward to seeing you there!
Sunday Assembly London is your regular and reliable stop for a welcoming, accessible and inspiring Sunday community, where you can hear talks and poetry, sing songs and make new friends.
Stay after for tea, biscuits, and chat in the Backyard Comedy Club. Then join us for a local meal, picnic, or a drink and card games at the pub.
