About this Event
On the outside, it’s a party—on the inside, it’s a transformation. Dance Magic is a class but more of an experience where music, recovery, movement, diverse lived experiences and the power of your body's story come together. Regardless of your why you attend, this event invites you to take every step through your own rhythm to discover the power of dancing in community.
In partnership with The Pearl, The Pearl is donating their space and a portion of the proceeds go to supporting Out Front Magazine. "At OFM (OUT FRONT Magazine), we believe each person is a vibrant contribution to the fabric of life. Meet the team that inspires to amplify queer voices."
Led by Alex Vaughan, pronouns they/them—a transmasculine, nonbinary human, a peer support specialist, a certified personal trainer, a dynamic group fitness instructor, Nationally Certified Recovery Coach and drag performer (Trey Suits) with over 25 years of experience in the fitness industry, this experience is designed with you in mind and heart. Alex's experience includes opening for The Fitness Marshall!
Structured song by song to popular, feel-good music, with accessible choreography that welcomes every level of mover. In Alex's work as an LGBTQ+ peer support specialist, their approach is rooted in harm reduction and honoring multiple pathways through recovery, using dance as medicine to the soul.
We offer multiple ways to engage:
- Dance Through Recovery: Use movement as a tool for journey exploration, engaging in sustainable repair, discovering your resilience, and self-expression.
- Follow-Along Workout: Jump in with Alex for a guided flow that will challenge your body while lifting your spirit.
- Stimming & Sensory-Friendly Area: A dedicated space for those who need to stim, decompress, or take a sensory break while still being part of the vibe. Headphones/Ear buds are welcome!
Expect to sweat, smile, laugh and meet another version of yourself you didn't know before you arrived. This is more than just a dance class—it’s a joyful and inclusive celebration of every body, every story, and every step toward recovery and transformation.
Wear comfortable shoes and clothing you can MOVE in. A court shoe or running shoe recommended. Mocktails and water available!
