More about the artists:
Eimear Foley:
Eimear Foley is an alumnus of the Masters of Music Program (Musical Theatre) at New York University. Eimear undertook prior training at The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in Classical Voice and Opera Studies, graduating with the Barbara MacLeod accolade awarded to the most outstanding classical music student. Returning to Perth after seasons in New York and London, Eimear has been a guest soloist with The Perth Symphony Orchestra, The West Coast Philharmonic Orchestra, The Varley String Quartet, Aquila Strings, and Carmelo Entertainment.
Madeline Crofts:
Madeline Crofts is a jazz and musical theatre vocalist, with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Australia. Throughout her studies, Madeline fronted numerous swing bands, including the jazz-pop duo Hogey Bear and the Honeypot. Relocating to Melbourne, Madeline studied under several Australian jazz masters, specifically Bob Sedergreen, Julie O’Hara, Michelle Nicole and Bridgette Allen. Since 2019, Madeline has been a resident vocalist for Broadway Unplugged (under musical director Daniele Buatti).
Having returned to Perth, Madeline currently specializes in performing for corporate and private events as well as original musical theatre works. Her credits in this field include Viva la Restoration and MacArthur’s Markets (both works by Jackson Griggs and Cal Silberstein). She frequently appears as guest vocalist for the Perth Symphonic Chorus, Voiceworks, and numerous events hosted by Government House and the City of Perth.
Noah Humich:
Tenor and director Noah Humich is a recent graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. Throughout his time at WAAPA he was involved in four major productions, most notably as the Gingerbread Witch in Engelbert’s ‘Hänsel und Gretel’ (2022). Noah’s latest performances include Poisson in Adriana Lecouvreur, and Don Giovanni (both with Freeze Frame Opera), and Arpad in She Loves Me (Western Sky Projects 2024). He has also performed at numerous events for Opus WA, Boorloo Heritage Festival, and Perth Opera Voices, the last of which he is a founding member.
A collaboration with West Australian Opera in September 2024 resulted in Enchanted Encounters; an immersive experience tailored for secondary school students which delved into the gothic and supernatural facets of art song, opera, and musical theatre, for which Noah both directed and performed. This event took place at Perth’s iconic Liberty Theatre, under the ownership of the Humich Group, which hosted Alan Cumming for his 2023 performances. 2025 sees Noah undertake chorus positions at West Australian Opera for its productions of The Pirates of Penzance and Madame Butterfly, numerous engagements with Freeze Frame Opera, and a southwest concert tour with Perth Opera Voices.
Joshua Haines:
Joshua's most recent credits include performance seasons in Sydney (In These Shoes, Sydney Fringe), Melbourne (Mama Alto: Transcendent, Melbourne Recital Centre/Hamer Hall), and Tasmania (Festival of Voices), as well as being resident musical director for the 2024 Perth International Cabaret Festival and She Loves Me (presented by Western Sky Projects) at Perth's Liberty Theatre.
As a composer and conductor, his compositions have been performed by both the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and his musical theatre works have seen premieres in America and in the United Kingdom.
Beginning in 2018, Joshua regularly conducts research studies within the Percy Grainger archives located at the University of Melbourne, with a focus on Australian cultural music.
His current work in opera includes his engagement as conductor for West Australian Opera’s Koolbardi wer Wardong by Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse; the first opera to be written entirely in the Noongar language, which was quickly followed with his involvement for the same company's production of Wundig wer Wilura in early 2024.
Since 2017, Joshua has been working extensively within the musical theatre department at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts as lecturer, coach and teacher to the Diploma and Bachelor students – a position which allows him to pursue his passion for showcasing and promoting new and original works created for the Australian stage.
