Ein begeisterter junger Musikjournalist beschrieb John Kennedy einmal als bescheidenes Genie. Kennedy ist weder ein Genie noch besonders bescheiden. Er ist der Sänger und Songwriter vieler klassischer Indie-Songs, die einen Platz in den Herzen von Indie-Pop-Musikliebhabern auf der ganzen Welt gefunden haben. John Kennedy begann seine Musikkarriere in Brisbane mit seiner ersten Band JFK and the Cuban Crisis. Ein Umzug nach Sydney brachte ihm mit der ersten Veröffentlichung bei Waterfront Records sofortigen Erfolg als Independent-Künstler.Dies ist nicht nur John Kennedys Abschiedskonzert in Berlin, sondern auch die Veröffentlichung einer EP mit drei neuen Songs, die kürzlich in Berlin in Moes Rockin‘ Chair Studio aufgenommen wurden.

In the 1990’s, Australian musician John Kennedy lived in Berlin making music with his band John Kennedy and the Honeymooners. He returned early this year and has performed a number of concerts at the Artenschutztheater. He will soon be leaving Berlin again the live in Spain. For his farewell concert at the Artenschutztheater he will be reunited with some of his former bandmates. An enthusiastic young music journalist once described John Kennedy as a humble genius. Kennedy is neither a genius nor particularly humble. He is the singer / songwriter of many classic Indie songs that have found a place in the hearts of indie pop music lovers around the world. John Kennedy started his music career in Brisbane with his first band JFK and the Cuban Crisis. A move to Sydney brought immediate independent success with the first release on Waterfront Records. The band broke up in the mid-'80's and Kennedy went on to pursue a solo career with his band vehicle John Kennedy's Love Gone. Mixing pop,country, folk and rock influences he created his own style which he named Urban and Western. It is most easily compared to the early music of Elvis Costello. Kennedy chose to travel the world with his guitar, living by the mantra: Have Songs, Will Travel. Now he continues on his travels.
In addition to being John Kennedy’s farewell to Berlin concert, this will also be the launch of a EP of new three songs recorded recently in Berlin at Moe’s Rockin’ Chair Studio.
