About this Event
Joe Webb 7-A-Side
Joe Webb, described as one of the UK’s most captivating pianists, is excited to bring his music to De Beauvoir Jazz festival. Fresh off his Mercury-prize nomination, Brit-Awards performance, the festival closes with an flourish with this unmissable gig. Joe, with a performance CV that includes collaborations with renowned artists such as Wynton Marsalis and Jamie Cullum, now is in the thick of releasing and touring his own music.
Inspired by performances together as the house band at a prominent London venue for over two years, Joe began composing music specifically tailored to double bassist Will Sach and drummer Sam Jesson. Webb’s ability to seamlessly intertwine the raw energy of 90s “Brit pop” bands, his love for football, and his deep-rooted connection to the jazz piano tradition will no doubt captivate audiences and create excitement from global fans.
This gig will see Joe’s music reimagined with horns, featuring some of London’s finest players and arranged by some of London’s finest young arrangers.
