From prehistory to the present, we have used drums to conjure spirits, create ecstatic states of mind, unite communities, and instil fear in enemies. More recently, drums have been the heartbeat of music meant to disrupt, featuring in protests across the world.
This project is led by Jeremy Rose, a phenomenal force from Australia, label director and ARIA award-winning saxophonist.
Featuring drum virtuosos Simon Barker and Chloe Kim, Disruption! awakens the senses: bridging culture and genre with Barker’s in-depth Asia-Pacific rhythmic knowledge and Kim’s Korean heritage while blending rock, hip-hop, and jazz in for good measure.
