We’re thrilled to be back for a second season of events, and this time we’re bringing endurance cyclist, expedition runner and author Jenny Tough all the way to Manchester. For one evening only, Jenny will be talking us through some of her recent adventures, as well as teaching us to find the confidence to go and forge our own solo adventures.
Since growing up in the Canadian Rockies, Jenny Tough has always been at home in the mountains. She is an endurance athlete best known for running and cycling some of the world's most challenging events - the first female two-time winner of the Silk Road Mountain Race, winner of the Atlas Mountain Race, and a finisher of ultra races around the world.
Outside of racing, she has explored over 40 countries by bicycle, and shares the stories in her writing and films. She writes about her experiences in books, magazines, and her own Substack, and is a regular guest on podcasts in the outdoors, running, cycling, and travel genres.
Jenny’s recent book SOLO chronicles her journey to run solo and unsupported across a mountain range on every continent, including three world-first traverses.
What Jenny's story tells us most of all is that setting out to do things alone - whether the ambitious or the everyday - can be invigorating, encouraging and joyful. Her talk will teach us to find strength, confidence and self-belief in everything we do.
You can find out more information about Jenny on her instagram @jennytough and Youtube.
Jenny’s book SOLO is available at all good bookstores, and there will be signed copies available to buy during the evening.
