About the Artists
Japs
Blending pop, rock, jazz, R&B, and Latin influences into a signature jazz fusion sound, Japs brings a fresh and dynamic approach to each song. Performing with his band and signature keytar, he takes over the stage with infectious energy, weaving improvisation into every moment. His set flows between smooth grooves, upbeat rhythms, and expressive musical turns, creating a live experience that feels both spontaneous and intentional.
Japs is a versatile musician and vocalist known for his genre-defying style and captivating live presence. His work transcends boundaries and invites listeners into an ever-evolving sonic landscape. With a deep love for live performance, Japs brings transformative energy to every stage he steps on.
Carol Leite
Carol Leite brings an energetic blend of R&B, soul, funk, and Afro-Brazilian folk music to the stage, creating a sound that bridges sounds and communities. She highlights Samba Rock — known as “Swing” in Rio and “Samba Rock” in São Paulo — a vibrant style that shaped her musical identity growing up in the Favela. A show with infectious grooves, powerful choruses, and a celebration of the iconic artists who have inspired her journey.
Carol Leite is an Afro-Brazilian singer-songwriter and percussionist based in Toronto. Her sound weaves together elements of Samba, soul, rock, and Afro-Brazilian folk traditions, reflecting both her roots and her evolving artistic voice. Carol is the founder of Chuva de Verão, a musical project she launched in 2023, and performs regularly as a vocalist and percussionist with various local acts. With a strong presence in both the music and community arts scenes, Carol brings depth, rhythm, and authenticity to every performance.
