Wake up your winter with some fast, fun, thought-provoking theater! We're trying something new! For the first time ever, Hyde Park Community Players has gathered some ultra-new, ultra-short plays into a New Works Mini-Festival, all written, directed, and performed by your Hyde Park friends and neighbors -- and never seen before now. Retirees who meet on a cruise and conduct detailed background checks on each other ... while checking each other out. "Swifties" from a dystopian near future who find a novel use for their personal time machines. Down-on-their-luck shoemakers who rediscover their "zazz" thanks to some elfin magic. Those are just a few of the characters you'll meet. We're also excited that this Mini-Festival draws on the talents of some longtime Players, some who joined us only recently, and others we'd never met before! Come kick off the new year with some bold new plays.
Conceived & produced by Marilyn Cavicchia, the reading will be followed by homemade treats and a chance to chat with the writers, directors and actors. $5 at the door.
