From a quiet university city in Western Poland, Izzy and the Black Trees bring raw punk energy, noisy psych guitar riffs, strong beats and feisty melodies. You can feel the aura of Patti Smith, Debbie Harry, Kim Gordon or PJ Harvey around Izzy’s songwriting, her musical delivery and the band’s poetic rebel freeride. Second album ‘Revolution Comes In Waves’ (October 2022) received superb reviews from all over Europe.

Ioana Iorgu is an independent music producer, a self-taught guitarist, bassist and drummer. Back in Malaysia, 2014, she already started performing with her school’s rock band together with her English teacher who greatly inspired and introduced her to some of her records.

In 2015, Ioana released her first instrumental album Silent Scream, shortly followed by the shoegaze saturated Fiction. After experimenting with ambient music, Ioana dove in post-punk genre, employing dissonant guitar riffs, thumping bone-cold drum beats and raw, unsettling vocals. She released her debut album Thick Skin in 2021, her full-length album Mean Time in 2022. Her fourth studio album, Fever Dream, will feature the singles Liar, Lonely and Doll House.
All instrumentals and recordings are written, recorded and mixed by Ioana. Live, she is accompanied by a session drummer. Ioana Iorgu performed in more than 30 cities in The Netherlands as well as international shows, was part of the Grondslag professional musical trajectory and Popronde 2023 (the biggest Dutch touring festival) in which she was further selected as the Nevermind the Hype talent act.
