Part 2: Tuesday, November 25, 7:15 – 8:45pm

Author and historian David Pantano presents a sweeping two-part journey through Italy’s political, socioeconomic and cultural landscape from the 1860s to the 2020s. This lecture series explores key periods in the nation’s history, including the Risorgimento (Italian unification), the two World Wars, the post-war economic boom, the period of political violence ‘gli Anni di Piombo’ (Years of Lead), the ‘Mani Pulite’ (Clean Hands) judicial investigation, and the leadership of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The talk will conclude with what promises to be a lively discussion on the future course and global influence of Italian culture and creativity.
