Author and historian David Pantano presents a sweeping two-part journey through Italy’s political, socioeconomic and cultural landscape from the 1860s to the 2020s. This lecture series explores key periods in the nation’s history, including the Risorgimento (Italian unification), the two World Wars, the post-war economic boom, the period of political violence ‘gli Anni di Piombo’ (Years of Lead), the ‘Mani Pulite’ (Clean Hands) judicial investigation, and the leadership of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The talk will conclude with what promises to be a lively discussion on the future course and global influence of Italian culture and creativity.
Bio
David Pantano
David Pantano is a historian, author, translator, public speaker and researcher exploring Western esoteric traditions through the lens of magical realism. His work combines scholarly research with investigations into the transcendent dimensions of consciousness, guiding readers on an inner journey of personal transformation and ultimately toward self-realization. He is the author of several notable works, including: “The Magic Door: A Study on the Italic Hermetic Tradition”, its German translation, “Die Magische Pforte: Eine Studie über die Italisch-hermetische”, “Alchemical Hermeticism: The Secret Teachings of Marco Daffi on Initiation”, and forthcoming, “The Hermetic Book of the Dead: On the Life, Death, Rebirth & Resurgence of Magical Heroes.” Additionally, he is the translator and curator of “The Hermetic Physician: The Magical Teachings of Giuliano Kremmerz and the Fraternity of Myriam”.
