About this Event
Karin Kneffel is an artist renowned for her hyperrealist paintings. Kneffel deliberately chooses compositions that prompt reflection on how cultural and political histories are perceived. Her interest in archival materials around Bauhaus heritage is her way to draw attention to overlooked and under-researched narratives of pioneering women. The talk by Levent Özmen, International director of Dirimart, examines Kneffel’s recent paintings, centered around Isokon Flats. Through fabricated memories, conjured with objects and ghostly figures, the artist establishes pseudo connections. This artistic exercise of untold stories is an invitation for an exciting reimagination of unknown memories through her aesthetic realm.
