About this Event
This event takes place on Tuesday the 23rd of June and is the sixth of MathsWorld London's year long programme of monthly evening talks and events.
A former maths teacher turned artist, Samira explores the fascinating beauty that exists where mathematics meets art, history, and religion.
Through a visual journey of geometric art and personal storytelling, she shares how her career evolved from teaching mathematics to creating and teaching Islamic geometric patterns. Alongside this, you’ll have the opportunity to create your own artwork using templates and grids, working with colouring pens and pencils.
Visitors will have the opportunity to arrive from 18.15 to explore the ground floor of MathsWorld before entry to the upstairs talk area opens at 18:50. The talk/workshop will begin at approximately 19.00 with the centre closing its doors at 21:00.
