Learn basic stained glass technique while creating your very own sun catcher.
About this Event

This workshop is for absolute beginners and those seeking to build on previous workshops. Beginning students will learn the basics of stained glass while turning their very own design into a sun catcher. Students may work from a selection of designs or work with the instructor to develop a design that fits within an 8x8 inch square. This workshop will cover how to cut and grind glass to fit a pattern, apply copper foil, and solder the glass together using the Tiffany technique.

Returning students may work on personal projects with guided instruction focusing on strengthening both technique and confidence. The course emphasizes designing for stability, reinforcing larger projects, and refining essential skills such as glass cutting, fitting, and soldering. Students will work at their own pace on an individual project, with ongoing guidance and hands on support from the instructor. Whether students are looking to improve craftsmanship, take on more ambitious designs, or feel more confident in their stained glass practice, this course offers the time, structure, and mentorship to support that growth.

All materials and tools are provided, you need only bring your curiosity. Each student will leave with a finished, and ready to hang, stained glass design.

No previous experience is necessary. This workshop will include a 30 minute lunch break. Students may bring lunch or visit one of the nearby restaurants in Seattle's Pioneer Square.

Participants age 14+ are welcome. Parents or guardians must sign up alongside participants under the age of 18.
