About this Event
Ruth Childs and Cécile Bouffard started the project in 2021 as a collaboration between their respective disciplines: dance and sculpture. “Delicate” describes both Bouffard’s illustrated figures and Childs’s creative process—the fine tuning necessary to an evolving choreographic story. Both artists cultivate intuition and indeterminacy, fostering the suspension of judgment through a series of delicately disturbing vignettes.
“The success of Ruth Childs and Cecile Bouffard’s work speaks to their capacity to develop before and through our eyes a new imagination, full of abstract figures and gestures: the fragile beauty of a conversation between a body and sculptures.” — Clara Colson, Zone Critique
