About this Event
Internet for All NYC: A Forum on Municipal Broadband, Digital Justice, and Democratic Control
Internet access in New York City is too expensive and too slow. Everyone deserves fast and affordable internet access. Like other utilities, the internet can be provided by our city government at a fraction of the price that corporate ISPs offer. The Internet for All campaign is fighting to expand municipal broadband networks to serve everyone. New York City is now in a unique moment to make this happen. Join us for a discussion about the movement to build a publicly owned internet. We will discuss existing initiatives to provide affordable broadband and how to expand access to all New Yorkers.
Speakers:
- Troy Walcott, President of People's Choice Communications
- Rob Johnson, NYC Mesh
- Dave Seliger, Chief Digital Equity officer at NYC Dept. of Housing Preservation & Development, Liberty Link
