About this Event
The Park-to-Park Walk is designed to bring people together, encourage exploration, and show how connected Indy truly is. Get ready to discover Indy like you've never discovered it before!
Event Overview
The Park-to-Park walk, inspired by the Manhattan end to end walk (aka Broad City Challenge), is designed to demonstrate how walkable Indy is. This 12-mile, point-to-point urban walk is a collaborative community event hosted by We Walk Indy and Third Space Indy.
Starting at Marott Park in Broad Ripple and ending at Garfield Park on the city’s south side, the group will move through the heart of Indy via three major active-transportation corridors: the Monon Trail, the Indianapolis Cultural Trail, and Pleasant Run Trail.
Along the way, the group will make curated stops to highlight local community spaces that contribute to the vibrancy of each corridor. The group will stop at the halfway point for lunch. Participants are welcome to complete the full route or join us for portions of the route at various stops along the way.
The experience concludes with a group return trip on IndyGo’s Red Line, reinforcing the importance of multimodal transportation and demonstrating how walking and transit work together to make the city more accessible.
*NOTE: In the instance of inclement weather, the rain date is Sunday, April 26
