Catch 3 of Ireland's top rising young bands this July at Dun Laoghaire Summerfest 2024 as part of our 'Indie Night' at this years event!
Battling to revive a dormant music scene in their hometown of Gorey, alt-rock power trio, Foot Squeaker, have laid the first cornerstones of a new guitar band stronghold. Building hype from the ground up with a DIY mindset, the band are showing that you don’t have to be from the capital city to turn heads in the Irish Music Scene.
Accomplishing a wall of sound with only three bricks. When Foot Squeaker play live their twisted rhythms and triple vocal trickery are revelatory.
2023 saw the band back to full focus with their new single ’Silhouette’, mixed by Daniel Fox (Gilla Band) and mastered by Darragh Nolan aka Astakalapa, released 01.09.23. The band have been shaking the walls of venues across Ireland including; Fibber Magees (Dublin), The Gorey Market House Festival, Toales (Dundalk) and Wexford's Crown Live.
Silhouette hit the airwaves on Amazing Radio UK and US (Shell Zenner & Frankie Francis), Top Of The Morning Show NZ, and countless radio shows across Ireland and abroad.
Their return single was playlisted by Spotify on Alternative Ireland and other top playlists.
The current focus is on releasing upcoming scheduled singles including; 'Friends Like These', again, mixed by Daniel Fox due for release March 22nd. The band will be on tour through March and April around Ireland. Dates booked so far include: 29/03 Geoffs - Waterford, 30/03 McHughs Watchtower - Drogheda, 31/03 The American Bar - Belfast, 05/04 Sin É - Dublin and 13/04 Bennigans - Derry.
They plan to record their debut album in early '25.
What people say:
"Silhouette by Foot Squeaker is an electrifying and emotionally charged musical journey that demands your attention from the very first note."
- Illustrate Magazine
"Silhouette is a brilliant indie rock piece that is not only technically great but also has a wonderful and unique message to boot."
- Music Taste.uk
"The song has impeccable production, exuding a confidence and dynamism that had not yet been explore by the band in their previous singles."
- You!Me!Dancing! On The Radar
"the production values of “Silhouette” are top-notch. The result is a track that not only resonates emotionally but also boasts a polished sonic quality. Foot Squeaker’s signature alternative rock sound comes to full fruition in “Silhouette.”- Musikepool.com
Formed in late 2019, Drying Weather is a four-piece band from Dublin.Frank plays electric guitar, Conor plays drums, and Barry and Dónal both sing and swap between acoustic guitar and bass. In March 2023, the band appeared live on East Coast FM to premiere new single Railwayman, ultimately being chosen to represent the station in Hot Press/IBI's Irish Music Month. Over the course of the last few years they have been working with producer Eoin Whitfield (EHCO, Enemies) and released a series of singles, drawing praise from the likes of Kellii Scott (Failure) and Jordon Zadorozny (Blinker the Star). Their original, fuzzy acoustic brand of alternative rock layered with vocal harmony and twinkling reverb adds up to a curiously addictive sound. With post-pandemic shows in Berlin and London, a spot at Whelan’s Ones to Watch Festival 2023, and an Easter 2024 co-headline tour of Ireland with Gorey's Foot Squeaker, the band continues to hone their craft on the live circuit at home and abroad. The recording of debut album A Family Meal is well underway with the LP expected to arrive in 2024.
QUOTES
"A lot of fun... a brilliant song... there's a lot of naïve joy in it, which I love" - Kieran McGuinness, Radio Nova
“Garnering a reputation for their energetic live shows… defo ones to watch out for” - The Goo Magazine
"I really, really like it... I think they've got a really good sound, good musicianship" - John Barker, Dublin City FM
"Promising" - Hot Press
"What a great sound... a mixture of so many things that I love" - Ken Doyle (Bagatelle)
With her independently released, debut indie-rock EP: “Ordinary Matter” (streamed over 85,000 times) earning acclaim from sources such as Hotpress, Nialler 9 and The Irish Times, Last Apollo (a.k.a Lucy Rice) has gained momentum across streaming services but it is ultimately her astounding live shows that has lead to the loyal cult following Rice has steadily cultivated. Last Apollo effortlessly commands the attention of any crowd and ensnares them with her haunting lyrics and uniquely raw vocal style. Her influences include PJ Harvey, Big Thief and Indigo De Souza.
Recent performances include: Primavera Pro, Irish Music Week, Pro Weekend Fest, TILT and Trinity Ball. She has also performed three headline shows in Dublin, a poetry/prose-infused concert in the Cultural Centre, Paris and a headline show at the Windmill, London.
In October 2023, she began the release of a new wave of songs beginning with the single ‘Just Tonight.’ These new songs indicate a clear step away from her earlier indie hits as Rice continues to carve out and explore a unique style of songwriting darker and more emotive than ever before.
