About this Event
Our experienced, award-winning artists will host interactive, skill-building music and drama workshops leading to real-life performances.
Minimum age 12 and over for dancing classes, and 18 + with grade 2 and over skills.
a. Stage 1- In the workshop, they will learn about the project and the heritage and explain why we are doing this project. Kalakar will also assess the student's competencies so they can involve each student according to their abilities.
b. Stage 2 - Students will be involved in script writing for the musical. We will teach them the methods of script writing, and each will have a section to write.
c. Stage 3- Dance workshop by Indrani Datta. Working together, scripts written by students will be added to the original script.
d. Stage 4- Teaching the music- Students will learn the actual lyrics of the music, notations and singing techniques.
e. Stage 5- Acting and dance workshop by Chandra Chakraborty, Indrani Datta and Gairika Mathur - According to their skills, students will be involved in performing on stage as a part of the musical, some will be involved in stage decor,dress design, backstage management and admin work. This way, all students will be engaged actively in the whole project.
f. Stage 6- Students will attend rehearsal and will learn about other important aspects such as stage design, lighting and volunteering
g. Stage 7 - Students will be asked to write reports on the project and their learning.
These seven stages will be spread across the three workshop dates agreed with Poplar Union with Chandra overseeing all the activities at every stage.
