In Their Footsteps: The People, Places and Events of Cape Cod HistoryJoin us on Friday, April 24 at 2 PM at the West Dennis Library for a special author talk with Christopher Setterlund, celebrating his new book, In Their Footsteps: The People, Places and Events of Cape Cod History.
A 12th-generation Cape Codder, Setterlund invites readers on a nostalgic, often surprising journey through the peninsula’s past. You’ll hear lively stories rich with local color, from the history of the Bass River Bridge to a 19th-century murder in South Yarmouth, the rise of Mayo’s Duck Farm, speakeasies, storyland, and more. Each chapter offers a small time capsule of the Cape’s unforgettable characters, landmarks, and moments.
As Setterlund reminds us, Cape Cod is more than beaches and vistas; it’s a living patchwork of discoveries, legends, and unsung heroes that have shaped this beloved place.
Whether you’re a longtime resident, chasing a bit of that “Old Cape Magic,” or simply love a good local story, this event is for you. Free and open to all—bring your questions and your memories.
An author signing will follow the talk, and books will be available for purchase. Light refreshments will be served, courtesy of the Friends of the West Dennis Library.
