Welcome to the West London Mencap Training Academy Open Evening!
Join us for a relaxed, in-person open evening to learn more about our Supported Internship and Pre-Supported Internship programmes at Mencap Training Academy.
This event is a great opportunity to meet our team, ask questions, and find out what days within the programme look like. We’ll talk you through the support we offer, including job coaching, classroom learning, travel training, workplace adjustments, and help with individual learning needs.
Our Supported Internship programme is a structured, work-based study programme for 16–24-year-olds with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). It combines real work placements with personalised support from a trained job coach, alongside studying essential skills such as English, maths, or vocational qualifications.
During the evening, you’ll discover the range of work experience placements available. Young people on our programmes have gained experience in areas such as:
- retail and hospitality
- health and social care
- administration
- facilities management
- warehousing and logistics and more.
We’ll explain how these placements help build confidence, develop employability skills, and increase opportunities to move into paid employment.
Whether you’re a young person, parent or carer, or a professional supporting someone’s next steps, this open evening is your chance to see how we support young people to take their first steps into the workplace and plan for a positive future.
