“How do text and its analysis interact with the production process? Great Dramaturgs have been compared to diplomats, living lexicons, midwives, therapists and cheerleaders. This Workshop will demystify the role of the dramaturg and how they can provide clarity for directors, writers, designers and performers by asking the right questions. Through research, writing exercises, and guided discussions, we will examine: pitching plays; distilling scenes; the impact of casting on a concept; and articulating the ideas of a play.”
